Bunya nuts are native to Australia and are found primarily in the eastern parts of the country, particularly in Queensland. You will find these up and down the east coast today and even as afar as Wagga Wagga. Our Aboriginal team have hand harvested and proud to bring this nut to your plate.

Edible flavour profile: They have a starchy, nutty flavour with a texture similar to that of a chestnut.

Use in cooking: Bunya nuts can be used in various dishes, such as salads, soups, stir-fries, and even desserts. They can be roasted, boiled, or ground into flour for baking.

Preparation for cooking: To prepare Bunya nuts, start by removing the outer husk or shell. This can be done by boiling or roasting the nuts, making the shell easier to remove. Once the shell is removed, the nuts can be further cooked according to the recipe.
