Bush Tucker Education Tour
Enquiry formLooking for a hands-on school excursion idea where students can gain first-hand insight into First Nations knowledge of our Country and its rich diverse food sources? Escape your classroom and head to North Head Sanctuary for a fun and interactive outdoor learning experience. To celebrate the Gai-mariagal Festival, Bush to Bowl and the Harbour Trust are hosting a series of bush tucker education tours for primary schools at North Head Sanctuary in Manly. In this 1 hour bush tucker walk, led by a knowledgeable First Nations guide, students will develop a deeper understanding of our connection to Country, First Nations customs and beliefs, as well as practices. During the walk, together with a First Nations guide, students will identify different bush tucker plants and learn how they are used in First Nations daily practices. Through touch and smell, students will be able to learn through this sensory experience, while leisurely walking and learning more about the history of the area. This session will end with a yarning circle where students will be able to reflect on what they’ve learned and discuss the important connection between these native bush plants and First Nations culture.

Gain first-hand insight into First Nations knowledge of our Country and its rich diverse food sources. To celebrate the Gai-mariagal Festival, Bush to Bowl and the Harbour Trust are hosting a series of bush tucker walking tours at North Head Sanctuary in Manly and Headland Park (Georges Heights and Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh) in Mosman.
In this 1 hour bush tucker walk, led by a knowledgeable First Nations guide, you will get a deeper understanding of our connection to Country, First Nations customs and beliefs, as well as practices.
During your walk, your guide will be showing you different bush tucker plants that are used in First Nations daily practices. You will be allowed to touch and smell the plants for a sensory experience, while leisurely walking and learning more about the history of the area.Â

Bushtucker Walks
EnquiryAre you looking for an experience learning about bushtucker, our native plants whilst walking on Country? This experience is for individuals, family or groups friends. Occuring on a monthly basis or we can tailor for a smaller group.
We run our workshop out of the Northern beaches based on weather, plants, foods and access. Locations will vary so we can provide you the best experience.
