Landscapes with a Story
Led by qualified landscaper and designer Adam Byrne, our Cultural Landscaping services blend traditional Indigenous knowledge with modern design principles to create sustainable, meaningful outdoor spaces. Adam brings years of hands-on experience and a deep connection to Country, ensuring each project reflects the unique stories, plants, and practices of the local Aboriginal community. Whether you're restoring native ecosystems or creating culturally rich gardens, Bush to Bowl is here to guide you through a landscaping journey that honours culture, promotes biodiversity, and respects the land.
Our passion for cultural landscaping is reflected in the spaces we’ve brought to life—both independently and in collaboration with others who share our vision. One standout project is Signal Fire, a culturally significant garden created with our friends at Mili Mili, perched on the stunning Freshwater Headland. This unique space honours Indigenous connection to Country and storytelling through native plants, natural materials, and intentional design. We’re proud to share that Signal Fire has recently received a Merit Award for Place from the Design Institute of Australia, a testament to the power of culture-led design to shape meaningful, healing environments.
From the Cultural Healing Garden at Macquarie Hospital to the bushfood rooftop kitchen gardens at CBA, our work spans a wide range of spaces—but it's often the small school gardens that leave the biggest mark. These intimate projects hold deep meaning for us, as they plant the seeds of cultural education early, helping young people connect with Country, culture, and sustainability. No matter the scale, each garden is a step toward healing, learning, and growing together.
